The following article will aid us in building a personal weather station using some easily available components and by following some real simple steps.

The project acts as a standalone application for showing the weather as it doesn’t need the help of any computer software to do so. The device directly communicates with the website www.wunderground.com and retreives the weather data.

The communication between the device and the weather station is governed by the Arduino and the Ethernet interface has been used to transfer the data between the two. By connecting all the essential connections, like the internet through ADSL, the weather around the IP address of site can be transferred using the TCP/IP.

As the stations differ from place to place, the circuit that has been used in making the weather station would differ for every place. The sample circuit that is used in this project is appropriate for the stations La Crosse WS 2355, WS 2300 and WS 2350.

The reason behind choosing www.wunderground.com is that the website not only records the temperature for the specific place but it also provides the information about the humidity, pressure, wind and others.
