Breadboards are the perfect choice while testing electronics circuit. But in order to get more efficient results and to make them easier to use, it would be desirable to make some patches or install some plugins so that they perform well in all conditions.
The microcontroller unit used in here is an 18 pin PIC microcontroller (PIC16F628A or PIC16F1827). Male headers are used to access the power supply pins of the microcontroller. The headers are used in such a way that the IO pins can be used in a series pattern. By using the series pattern, the space on the breadboard can be saved in order to accomodate other components

For display purpose, 7-segment LEDs have been used that are capable of displaying the decimal numbers, and also some alphabets and other special characters. The access to the LED segment and digit select pins has been provided with the help of female headers. Although the female headers are used in this case, male headers can also be used by plugging them directly to the breadboard.
