The following project helps you to build a personal computer temperature sensor, that enables the user to record the temperature of the CPU. Read on to know more about this.

The requirements of the project are listed below:

  • Arduino Microcontroller
  • Resistors
  • RGB LED
  • General purpose temperature sensor
  • Wires

The basic working of the project depends on the Arduino and LEDs. The Arduino fades the LED from blue to red depending on the temperature of the computer component. The LED turns red in case the temperature exceeds 50 degrees. This temperature has been chosen because this is the maximum temperature the Nvidia graphics cards can handle.

It is recommended to use the appropriate wire length so as to install the LED panel in the preferred location. The visible metal wirings will be put through a heat shrink process so as to avoid any problem that could occur afterwards due to them. Once the wires are soldered, the temperature sensor can be attached. The LED panel should be fixed in a place where it is easily and clearly visible.
