The requirements of the project are listed below:

• GPS module
• Cat collar
• GSM module
• AA or AAA battery to power up the GPS module.

There is only one practical way of mounting the tracker and that’s on the collar of the cat. Hence the tracker should be light in weight and small in size.

The GPS module that has been used in this project is the MiniMod. The main reason behind choosing this particular GPS module is because the small size and its weight makes it a perfect choice for the GPS device that can be mounted on the cat’s collar.

One more thing that is needed in order to complete the project is the GSM modules that will receive the signals sent out by the GPS module mounted on the collar.

To complete the entire circuit, the GPS serial output has to be given to the GSM module. Adequate power supply is required for the GPS module that is placed on the collar of the pet.

The circuit is now ready and you can track the movements of your cat with ease.
