Have you seen the blaster prop form Star Wars movie? It is made of resin and painted black and was used in the “Return of the Jedi” episode. This version uses PVC and aluminum tubing for the chassis. The construction is divided into 2 segments including the gun itself and the electronic effects.

For triggering the LED effects and sound, a 555 IC timer circuit is incorporated. At the rear of the gun is the LED chaser effect which is made possible by a 4017 decade counter. The blaster sound effect comes from a recordable sound module and you’ll see the speaker inside the PVC endcap perfectly fitting.
