It’s a different lantern that can be seen during the Christmas holidays especially on the New Year’s Eve. About 120 16oz plastic cups were used to build the ball known as sparkleball. They are hot-glued altogether to create a round shape.

To physically build the LED ball, some components used include a ShiftBrite Shield, a Seeeduino, 6 Satellite Modules with high power RGB LED arrays, and 6 ShiftBars with 3-channel LED controllers. An entire yard can be lighted up by the ball by lowering it from atop using a rope over a tree branch.

This is a unique decoration to a party not only during the end of the year.
