Most of us have seen lightsabers especially in Star Wars movies which shows how versatile and amazing is this device since it can cut through anything in just milliseconds. This mod will allow us to take a closer look inside a lightsaber to learn the source of its features. The controls will be slightly different on each individual lightsaber since it is a unique device. Normally, it is about the size of a large flashlight and the hand grip, belt ring, and ON/OFF switch is located at one end. One or two adjusting knobs for blade power and blade length can be found somewhere on the case. A model picture is shown below.
The blade will rapidly extend to its set length when the lightsaber is turned ON. A distinctive sound typical to an arc wave energy field is produced by the lightsaber blade. Another distinctive characteristic of the arc wave blade is a gyroscopic effect in the handle. There are 4 different ways by which the blade can be used and the most common is slicing as shown in the image below. Melting is another common use. Another important use is deflection which is done by deflecting another lightsaber blade or by deflecting blaster bolts.
Inside the lightsaber, the 4 major components are the controls, the energy channel and blade arc tip, the crystal energy chamber, and the power cell and associated components. The controls include the ON/OFF switch, blade length and power adjustment controls. The actual lightsaber blade is generated in the energy channel wherein the energy flowing from the crystal energy chamber is converted to the arc wave that will become the blade. The energy chamber uses at least 2 crystals while being responsible for primary energy conversion.
