A powerful Blu-Ray laser is illustrated in this mod which was designed into a small but heavy duty keychain that is made from a solid piece of brass. The beam shot seen in the image below consists of a 405nm blu-ray laser diode. The laser should be handled carefully since it is a class 3B laser which can cause damage to the eye if pointed directly or even its reflections.

It is important to ensure that a voltage reading is obtained between the negative end of the battery and the host before completing the build. The stock switch circuit is not disabled enough if any kind of voltage reading is present.

A trimmed FlexDrive was inserted inside for an 803T blu-ray build as shown below. To make the switch a momentary ON/OFF button, the button circuit on the stock boardfor the host was bypassed. Some black tape was used to insulate between the circuits. To keep the contact points on the FlexDrive from making contact with the barrel, the tape is folded up and the head screws down onto the ground.

A 3.6V 10180 lithium battery was used to run the FlexDrive by drilling out the tail cap to fit the battery as shown below. Since the 10180 is just a little longer than the 3 stacked button cells that came with the host, the spring on the tail cap was shortened just a little. To keep the current as low as possible and still have good power, the highest efficiency PHR diode was chosen.

For red diodes, the AR coated acrylic lenses were used in order to get about 10% more power while fitting very well into the module. There are 3 different builds done with the current draw on fully charged 10280 batteries. A video below shows a much less powerful blu-ray build with lighting matches. A very small amount of smoke in the air can be seen from the matches that will make the blu-ray beam visible.
