The concept of the project is to create a flat panel that can be hang on the wall by dismantling a laptop and putting the guts of it into a new enclosure wherein a perfect solution is a shadow box frame. The laptop used to create the picture frame PC is a Sony VAIO which can be used for watching TV or emulating a digital frame or video games with wireless controller. Other ways of controlling it is by using a touch panel, ATI remote wonder RF remote, Xbox 360 controller, wireless keyboard/mouse, AirMouse iPhone app, or remote software. The finished product is shown in the image below.

The wall PC can provide cool looks and can cause good conversation piece. This extra display can extend the main PC desktop while being able to control music, watch movies and watch TV. This digital picture frame with online syncing is cheap since only an old unused laptop and cheap frame are needed as it takes up almost zero space. It can also function as file server, backup, or any similar tasks while providing security webcam or video conferencing.
The back of the wall PC is shown in the below image where the excess casings and unnecessary components of the laptop are removed. Also shown next to it is the side view when it was off the wall. A matte finish over the screen is done after flipping the base behind the screen and before securing it all inside of a picture frame snugly.

The image of the laptop is shown below before it was torn apart. The laptop was easy to be dismantled by just finding the several small screws and taking away each piece in the correct order. The components and features available inside the wall PC include Linksys PCMCIA Wireless-N adapter, Pinnacle PCTV USB TV tuner, ATI Remote Wonder Plus adapter, Built-in Bluetooth & Wireless-B, Pentium M 1.6GHz, 1GB RAN, 60GB HDD, very thin and light 13” screen, Xbox 360 PC wireless adapter, extra USB fan, and Windows XP with 1400×900 screen resolution.
