The project shows how a Ratchet and Clank gun was made to function as an amplifier for iPod. From the image below, the design includes a PVC pipe as the main tube of the gun, batteries located inside the main tube to power the amplifier, empty ink cartridges which are the grey things on the sides of the red tube, raw speaker that is placed inside the main tube, and 3 LED lights in the front of the gun.

As shown in the images below, a compass is used and a circle is drawn to create the 3 sides where the cartridge will be placed. The markings on the pipe are drawn after cutting out the hole and putting the paper around the pipe. To make the ink cartridge a lot stronger, some wood would be fitted. By using the self-instinct, the length of the pipe can be determined and an access to it can be sawn.

The image below shows the almost finished back off the gun made of wood and the speaker located in the center. The speaker is prevented from sharp objects or from being damaged by the wire mesh. The power supply is regulated by the visible switch that can be seen underneath. Some aluminum was used to fit the switch and LEDs. A big battery is secured with a bracket as it lies on top of the speaker for the power supply. The bracket will prevent the battery from bouncing forward and backward although the pipe will hold the battery into place. When the firing switch is tricked, a flasher on top will be activated.

The next image shows the add-ons and extras n the pipe. This is where the old motor could function as an extra grip on the gun. A nice hole will be left where a bolt fits through when the rotor of the motor is removed. Although not visible, the extra bolts on the side will prevent it from turning around its axle. The taping and painting is seen on the next image wherein yellow, red, and grey are the basic colors for Ratchet.

The final stage is putting everything together by securing with screws. The amplifier will be kept in place by using foam which prevents more holes to be drilled. More details of the construction can be found here.
