This project provides a big relief on the user wherein a snow blower can be controlled remotely to do the job for him as he sits comfortably in his home. This can be witnessed in the video below as the user can effortlessly clean his driveway. The RoBo blower can be both operated on gas power and battery. The two powerful DC motors are capable of moving in excess of 500 pounds while the battery supplies the power to the electronics.

The latest in RF controller technology is used to operate the RoBo blower and this has some similarities to those used to fly radio-controlled model airplanes. It took two years for the RoBo blower to be done along with several hours of devoting to design, construction, and trial & error so that the prototype can be ensured with best quality and performance.

The whole prototype has a dimension of 4 ½ feet long, 30 inches high and 30 inches wide. Its wheels have 5 inch width, 13 ½ inch diameter, and contains aggressive tractor thread for added traction in snow. The whole construction weighs around 378 pounds as it was made with welded steel frame, metal auger housing, and fiberglass body.

The prototype requires less than 50V DC power and has a built-in charging system while using dual batteries. It uses twin in-line motors and the method of control is through radio frequency joystick controller that can reach up to 500 feet. For the safety features, it has a failsafe circuitry in case of power loss and the engine can be shut down remotely. If the controller is set down, it auto stops and at every stop, the auto parking brake is set. Moreover, it has anti-tip sides, rear bumper, head lights, and rotating lights.
